ISTANBUL — May 1, 2026
Gold prices saw a renewed rise after recent losses, driven by what analysts describe as “reaction buying” following a period of decline.
Recovery After Recent Losses
The price of gold had dropped significantly in recent days. Since the start of geopolitical tensions involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran, gold lost around 13% of its value, with its ounce price falling to $4,543, marking a third consecutive day of decline.
However, in the latest trading session, gold rebounded strongly:
- The ounce price increased by about 1.9%
- It climbed back to around $4,630
Demand Returns to the Market
Market observers noted that renewed investor interest played a key role in the rebound. The return of demand after the recent dip signaled that investors are still viewing gold as a safe-haven asset during uncertain times.
Role of U.S. Economic Uncertainty
Analysts also pointed to ongoing uncertainty surrounding U.S. fiscal policy as another factor supporting gold prices. Expectations that economic risks may persist are helping sustain demand for the precious metal.
