Güriş and Huawei Partner on Renewable Energy and Battery Storage Projects

ISTANBUL — Turkish energy and infrastructure group Güriş Holding has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Huawei Digital Power to collaborate on renewable energy generation and battery energy storage projects, strengthening efforts to accelerate Türkiye’s clean energy transition.

The partnership will focus on the development of solar power plants, energy storage systems (BESS), and integrated renewable energy solutions, combining Güriş’s experience in power generation and infrastructure with Huawei’s expertise in digital energy technologies and grid-scale storage systems.

Under the agreement, the two companies aim to deploy advanced energy storage technologies that improve grid stability, increase the efficiency of renewable energy assets, and support the integration of larger volumes of solar and wind power into Türkiye’s electricity network. Huawei’s battery storage platforms are designed to provide services such as frequency regulation, peak shaving, and renewable energy balancing.

The collaboration comes as Türkiye continues to expand investments in renewable energy and storage infrastructure to strengthen energy security, reduce carbon emissions, and support the modernization of its electricity system. Battery storage has become an increasingly important component of new renewable energy projects as the country works to improve grid flexibility and accommodate higher shares of intermittent generation.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The companies said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing sustainable energy technologies and supporting the long-term growth of renewable energy and energy storage capacity in Türkiye.
