Hatay, the city of civilizations, awaits its visitors with new tourism investments

Hatay, which has hosted many civilizations throughout history and attracted attention with its sea, plateau, faith and gastronomy tourism, aims to increase the number of domestic and foreign visitors with the investments made in recent years.

Hatay, which has made a name for itself with its historical riches and natural beauties, wants to increase its share of the tourism cake with its cinema museum, marina, coastal road and diving center projects.

Hatay Governor Rahmi Dogan told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the city has great values with its culture, history, gastronomy and tourism.

Reminding that they are one of the leading provinces with their work in the fight against the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19), Dogan noted that both tradesmen and those who want to come to the city are in great longing during this process.

Stating that they hope to get rid of the mask in the coming months, Dogan said, “I call on all our citizens. We invite everyone to Hatay. When they come, they will meet the city’s delicious food, history and culture. They will have a good time and will happily return to their homes and countries.”

“The coastal road has created a serious tourism location for Hatay”

Explaining their work on Hatay’s tourism, Dogan stated that the Samandag-Arsuz coastal road was completed last year and started to contribute to the tourism of the city.

Stating that the coast and bike path with a view of the Mediterranean welcomes visitors from all over Turkey, Dogan continued as follows:

“Our 26-kilometer tourism route is being wondered by all over the world. Last week, a tourism magazine from Munich, Germany asked for the visuals of the road. The coastal road created a serious tourism location for Hatay. Again, we built a Madenli Yacht Harbor and Water Sports Center between Iskenderun and Arsuz. All work was completed this week. They have now tied 70 yachts to our port. Work continues at the port where the Hatay Sea Bus (HADO), which has been talked about for years in the city, will be used. They will start their activities in a short time.”

Restoration work in the old parliament has been completed

Noting that the restoration work on the former Hatay State Assembly Building and Adali Mansion, which is one of the most important locations in Antakya, has been completed, Governor Dogan said that they plan to open this place in July when Hatay joined the homeland.

Cinema museum project

Dogan noted that within the scope of tourism activities, the mansion in Reyhanli district, where many movies were shot, especially the movie “Kibar Feyzo” and the TV series “Asi”, was expropriated in order to turn it into a cinema museum.

Stating that besides the cinema museum, a suitable environment will be created for those who want to shoot TV series or movies, Dogan said, “The project is nearing completion. We want to complete the restoration and put it into service this year. This mansion is a very important value, if we had not intervened, it would have been demolished in a few years. The memory of this place exists not only in Hatay, but also in all of Turkey. This place created a good excitement in Turkey.”

Diving center in Karamagara

Dogan stated that a diving center will be built in Karamagara in Yayladagi district, one of the most beautiful bays in the world, with the support of the Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency, and that financing is ready for this issue.

Stating that they are working on Golbasi Lake in Kirikhan district, Governor Dogan added that they are working to make this place a place where people can have a good time with landscaping.
