Hepsiburada Launches AI, Energy and Supply Chain Training Program for Young Talents

Hepsiburada Technology Group President Alexey Shevenkov said, “The program we conducted with UNDP IRH, UNDP Türkiye and MEXT contributed to empowering young talents in digital and green transformation.”

Hepsiburada organized an “Artificial Intelligence, Energy and Supply Chain” training program as part of the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub’s Future of Work Academy.

According to the company’s statement, the program—held at the MEXT Technology Center—offered young participants a training experience enriched with sustainability, digital commerce and technology-focused content developed by Hepsiburada Tech Academy.

Designed to equip participants with sustainability-oriented skills in energy, technology and e-commerce, the program aims to support their integration into the technology ecosystem. Through sessions hosted in collaboration with UNDP IRH, UNDP Türkiye and MEXT, attendees were introduced to future business models and engaged in hands-on learning based on real-world scenarios.

Hepsiburada created modules focused on digital commerce and entry-level technology roles, offering participants a comprehensive learning pathway.

This inaugural program brought together 50 participants from 18 countries, with a 72% female participation rate, reinforcing the program’s vision of inclusivity.

Throughout the training, participants received instruction from UNDP Türkiye and MEXT experts in areas such as AI applications, energy efficiency, smart manufacturing and supply chain management. Hepsiburada specialists delivered sessions on software development, product management, user experience and data products.

“Technology Gains Transformative Power Only When Combined with People”

Hepsiburada CTO Alexey Shevenkov emphasized that technology derives its transformative power from people.

He noted that while Hepsiburada views technology as a force that adds meaning to everyday life, the human element remains the company’s most valuable asset. The program, he said, reflects this philosophy by helping young talents strengthen their skills in digital and green transformation.

Shevenkov highlighted that participants gained insights enabling them to play an influential role in the future of digital commerce:

“In the future of work, sustainability and technology cannot be thought of separately. Young people who can envision digitalization with awareness for the environment, society and the planet will shape the future. Supporting their active role in this transformation is a great source of pride for us. The steps taken here today lay the foundation for a more efficient and sustainable world tomorrow.”

Practical Transformation Training for the Workforce of the Future

Vitalie Vremis, Head of the Country Offices Support Team at the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub, said the academy helps introduce young people to the realities of the labor market and the mindset required for the twin (green and digital) transformation. Accelerated skills training programs, he added, take this further by connecting ideas with real workplaces, technologies and employer expectations.

MEXT General Manager Efe Erdem noted that in the emerging industrial landscape shaped by digitalization, green transition and AI, their aim is not just to provide theoretical knowledge:

“By placing young people at the center of this transformation, we aim to show them how technology creates value in real production environments and encourage them to shape the future of manufacturing. Every technology they see and experience at the MEXT Digital Factory during the Future of Work Academy is a critical milestone in building Türkiye’s skilled workforce of tomorrow. We see young people not as observers but as real change agents who will carry our country’s sustainable and innovative industry vision forward.”
