U.S.-based hospitality chain Hilton has signed agreements for new hotels in Türkiye, expanding its portfolio across several key tourism destinations including Cappadocia, Istanbul, Izmir, Edirne, Mersin, Samsun and Mardin.
A cave-style property Hilton’s first in Türkiye will also be among the new hotels planned in Cappadocia, the company stated. Cave-style hotels are built into or inspired by natural rock formations, often using ancient cave dwellings that are restored and adapted for modern hospitality.
Hilton’s first cave-style hotel in Türkiye
Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia, Curio Collection by Hilton, which will be the company’s first cave-style property in the country, is set to open in Ortahisar in late 2025.
The 36-room hotel will feature cave-style architecture and include amenities such as a rooftop terrace, spa, meeting room, and multiple pools.
Located near the Kayseri Erkilet Airport, the property is situated beneath the historical Ortahisar Castle and will operate in a region recognized by UNESCO for its geological and cultural significance.
New openings in Istanbul, Izmir
In Istanbul, Palazzo Donizetti will join Hilton’s Tapestry Collection. Located in the city’s Pera district, the 79-room hotel is expected to open in fall 2025. It will offer food and beverage venues, spa facilities, and interior features referencing the building’s 19th-century origins.
Hilton is also expanding in Izmir with two additional hotels. Hotel Konak Izmir, part of the Tapestry Collection, is scheduled to open in July 2026 with 92 rooms and wellness facilities. DoubleTree by Hilton İzmir Karsiyaka will provide 153 rooms, conference space for up to 1,000 guests, and access to public transport and the airport.
Other planned openings include:
- DoubleTree by Hilton Edirne (spring 2026): A 94-room hotel offering business and leisure amenities.
- Hilton Garden Inn Mersin Forum (October 2026): A 100-room hotel near the city’s port and shopping district.
- Hilton Garden Inn Samsun (December 2027): A 160-room hotel located close to the city’s airport and historical sites.
- Hampton by Hilton Mardin Midyat (January 2027): The first international hotel brand in the area, with 82 rooms and proximity to the Matiate Archaeological Site.
$80 Million allocated for Istanbul Bosphorus renovation
The company also announced that Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, one of its existing properties, is undergoing an $80 million renovation. The updates include guest rooms and outdoor facilities, which will reopen in phases.
Founded in 1919, Hilton currently operates 92 hotels in Türkiye under various brands and has signed more than 120 projects across the country, with a continued focus on both urban and regional markets.
