Housing Price Index increased in March in Turkiye

The Housing Price Index increased by 5.4% month on month and 132.8% year on year to 809.3 in March.

The Housing Price Index data for the period of March 2023 has been announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

The HPI(2017=100), calculated to monitor the quality-adjusted price changes of residences in Turkiye, increased by 5.4% in March compared to the previous month, and amounted to 809.3.

While the HPI increased by 132.8% on an annual basis in March, the real increase in this period was 55.4%.

Looking at the change in HPI for the three big cities, an increase of 4.7%, 6.5% and 6.1% was observed in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, respectively, in March compared to the previous month.

Index values increased to 127.3% in Istanbul, 135.2% in Ankara and 133.4% in Izmir compared to the same month of the previous year.
