Helmann Yapi Chairman of the Board of Directors Selman Ozgun stated that the number of residences sold to foreigners in Antalya rose to 3 thousand 84 in the first 5 months of the year, with an increase of 27% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Ozgun made evaluations about the sale of residences to foreigners in Antalya. Expressing that foreigners continue to buy housing in Antalya, Ozgun stated that Antalya continues to be one of the two cities where the most housing is sold to foreigners.

Underlining that there has been a significant increase in sales due to the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) measures, travel and curfew restrictions, Ozun said, “Our city continues to be a favorite of foreigners. We spent the month of May with long periods of full closure and public holidays. Despite this, we sold 341 residences in May, an increase of 162% compared to the same month of the previous year.’

Ozgun stated that they expect house sales to increase rapidly with the stay of travel restrictions, the opening of the tourism season and the arrival of expats.

Emphasizing that their year-end target is 10 thousand in house sales to foreigners in Antalya, Ozgun said in his assessment of the total house sales in Antalya, “There is a partial decline in house sales due to reasons such as high-interest rates and increasing prices. In the first 5 months, a total of 18 thousand 673 houses changed hands in Antalya.’

‘We think that housing and land in Antalya will continue to be appreciated’

Selman Ozgun stated that Antalya, which is one of the most preferred coastal cities by holidaymakers and summer vacationers during the epidemic, is among the provinces where residences and lands are most valued.

Stating that according to the Central Bank’s Housing Price Index, house prices have increased by 32% in the last year across the country, Ozgun said:

In the region that includes Antalya, this rate is 41.6%. According to the real estate data analysis platform Endeksa, Antalya is among the top 3 cities with the highest increase in housing prices with an increase of 48.8%. Likewise, the increase in land prices has reached 59%. There is a high interest in housing investment by both locals and foreigners. We think that the value of residences and lands in Antalya will continue to increase with the effect of the increase in construction costs.’
