Widect sets out to grow the e-commerce ecosystem

Established specifically for the needs of the e-commerce sector, THY Air Cargo Transportation Inc. will offer integrated air cargo solutions for its corporate customers serving in the e-commerce logistics sector under the Widect brand.

According to THY’s statement, Widect, which set out with the slogan “Wide-direct-connect”, aims to maximize Turkiye’s potential in the international express market with its wide flight network and direct connection opportunities.

Promising to provide comprehensive solutions by combining Turkish Airlines’ wide flight network and Turkish Cargo’s logistics expertise, Widect will provide an end-to-end service that will provide door collection, return processes, export customs clearance, air cargo, import customs clearance, door to door delivery, storage services and all the logistics requirements needed by the e-commerce sector.

Widect will start its operations in the first quarter of 2024

Widect will provide fast and quality service at optimum costs, using the advantage of Istanbul as a transfer hub for e-commerce logistics. Aiming to be a reliable solution partner for e-commerce logistics originating from Turkiye, Widect will also support micro exports.

Combining high reliability, transparency, speed and cost advantages, Widect will start its operations in the first quarter of 2024.

Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, whose evaluations on the subject were included in the statement, said:

“We are pleased to announce our new brand, Widect, in which we combine our expertise in logistics and air cargo with customized solutions and innovation for e-commerce. We see Widect as an important driving force to increase collaboration in the dynamic and growing e-commerce sector and expand the e-commerce ecosystem. We have seen so far that Turkish Airlines’ launch of flights to a country makes significant contributions to increasing the trade volume with the relevant country. With this approach, we aim to offer our country’s exporters the solutions they need, make new markets accessible and thus create new opportunities and bring our country to the e-export target of 10% of total exports.”
