HATAY, Türkiye – IC Enterra Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of IC Holding, plans to triple its installed power capacity by 2030, according to CEO Cem Aşık. Speaking at the inauguration of the company’s Erzin-2 Solar Power Plant (SPP) in the southern province of Hatay, Aşık said the company is accelerating its growth through strategic renewable energy investments.
“Our current installed capacity will double within the next few years and triple by 2030,” Aşık said. “We are a company focused on renewable energy investment and rapid expansion.”
Erzin-2 Solar Plant Becomes Turkey’s Third Largest
During the event, company executives and journalists toured the newly operational Erzin-2 Solar Power Plant, which has quickly become one of Turkey’s largest solar facilities.
Aşık noted that the plant generated 115,000 megawatt-hours of electricity in the first half of the year alone.
“Erzin-2 is currently Turkey’s third-largest solar power plant. Despite being in its first year, it has already produced 18.5% of our total electricity generation,” he said.
So far, the facility has produced around 225,000 megawatt-hours of electricity, and the figure is expected to reach 240,000 megawatt-hours by year-end, in line with feasibility projections.
New Domestic and International Projects
Aşık announced that IC Enterra is preparing to launch 500 megawatts of new projects within Turkey, with phased construction already underway.
He also highlighted the company’s international expansion, noting that project development in Italy is progressing through the permitting phase and that the company continues to explore new opportunities in other countries.
“We are continuously modernizing our existing facilities and improving operational performance by integrating new technologies to enhance efficiency,” he added.
Commitment to Social and Sustainable Development
As part of the visit, the IC Enterra delegation and journalists also toured the İbrahim Çeçen Community Center in Hatay’s İskenderun district. The group met women participating in weaving, sewing, and basket-making workshops organized by the EU Business Development Center (ABİGEM), EkoDoku Sustainable Living Cooperative, and the Public Education Center.
The visit underscored the company’s broader commitment to supporting local communities and contributing to social sustainability alongside its renewable energy growth strategy.
