ISTANBUL — ING Türkiye has completed a comprehensive transformation of its technology infrastructure in line with its strategy that places digitalization at the core of its operations, the bank said in a statement.
With the rollout of a new banking platform developed using microservices-based modern architectures and disciplined software development processes, ING Türkiye has made its digital infrastructure faster, more flexible, and more reliable.
As part of the infrastructure transformation, the disciplined approach introduced across the software development lifecycle increased software delivery speed by 27%, according to the bank.
By combining its engineering capabilities with ING Group’s international experience, the bank has put a next-generation technology platform into operation, enabling it to deliver customer-specific digital solutions more effectively. The projects developed under the new platform are also expected to contribute to an improvement in the bank’s Net Promoter Score (NPS).
Active-Active Data Center Architecture
One of the key steps of the infrastructure upgrade was the Active-Active Architecture Transformation Project, which enabled critical applications to operate simultaneously across ING Türkiye’s data centers in Istanbul and Izmir. This eliminated dependence on a single data center while strengthening real-time load sharing and automatic failover capabilities.
“Technology Investments Focus on Modern Architectures”
Commenting on the transformation, Çiğdem İltemir Carino, Deputy CEO and Chief Technology Officer of ING Türkiye, said the bank’s technology investments are focused on modern architectures that are shaping the future of banking.
“Every step we take—from microservices architectures to an active-active data center structure—is part of our goal to provide customers with an uninterrupted and reliable experience,” Carino said. “With our new infrastructure, we are pleased to develop products and services in an agile manner while maintaining our already high service availability levels. With our strong digital infrastructure and global experience, we will continue to take pioneering steps in technology.”
