ISTANBUL (AA) – Graduates of the Innovation Campus program, conducted by Samsung Electronics Türkiye in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Türkiye, have developed technology-driven solutions addressing key social challenges.
According to a company statement, the program, which prepares young people aged 18–29 for the technologies of the future, encourages the development of projects that propose solutions to global social issues.
Among the 2025 graduates’ projects are innovative solutions targeting gender inequality, difficulties in accessing healthcare services, and the psychological effects of digital life on young people.
One project, titled “Analysis of the Impact of Gender Inequality on Human Development,” was developed by graduates Beyza Fidangül, Buket Hocaoğulları, Doğa Bolcan, Miray Irmak, and Neda Esmaeilzadeh. The initiative analyzes UNDP data to reveal the impact of gender inequality on human development levels. By making data-driven assessments across areas such as education, healthcare, life expectancy, and economic participation, the project highlights the structural effects of gender-based disparities on development. It offers policymakers and decision-makers a comparative and analytical framework through multidimensional data indicators.
Another project, “AI-Powered Hospital Appointment Search and Recommendation System,” was created by Mustafa Guruş, Hasan Ali Özgür, İpek Özgür Yalçın, Mustafa Uras İplikçi, and Muhammed Said Mirza Bal. The system aims to facilitate access to healthcare services by recommending the most suitable options based on users’ location, needs, and service density. Focusing on accessibility challenges in healthcare, the project uses AI-based smart routing algorithms to deliver personalized recommendations.
A third project, “Digital Life Assistant,” developed by Sudenur Şenol, Sedanur Çalı, Oğuzhan Bayrakçı, and İkranur Sayım, examines the impact of social media use on young people’s stress levels, psychological well-being, and digital habits. The initiative seeks to raise awareness about healthy digital usage and support young people in building a more balanced relationship with the digital world.
688 Young People Graduated
Over the past five years, more than 25,000 applicants from 81 provinces and 200 universities have applied to the Innovation Campus program, which aims to equip young people with both digital and social skills and contribute to employment. The training curriculum includes 350 hours of artificial intelligence, 240 hours of Internet of Things, and 87 hours of coding and programming courses. In addition to technical training, the program provides social skills development and job readiness training.
In cooperation with the “Sector on Campus Program” under the National Technology Academy led by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Innovation Campus program will also offer training to students at Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi in 2026.
Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the program has produced more than 100 graduation projects to date.
