The future of digital finance, tokenization, and the potential of real-world assets (RWA) on blockchain took center stage in Istanbul during the Crypto Wednesday Forum, organized by the Crypto Asset Association (KRİPTODER) with co-sponsorship from JRO Yatırım and CoinO.
According to a JRO Yatırım statement, the event also explored Turkey’s vision for digital transformation and its leadership role in the evolving global financial ecosystem.
“We Aim to Connect Physical and Digital Assets”
Murat Göktuğ Aksu, Chairman of JRO Yatırım, said the company is actively involved in industrial, educational, healthcare, residential, and tourism projects, but is now also building infrastructure to integrate digital finance into these sectors.
“Global investors’ expectations are changing — it’s no longer just about owning physical assets, but also the digital rights tied to them,” Aksu noted. He highlighted tokenization as a strategic focus for the company, particularly in tourism, real estate, and healthcare.
“Our goal is to enable global investors to interact not only with physical assets but also with their digital counterparts. In the future, physical assets that are digitized will become more flexible and transparent investment tools. This creates a major opportunity in developing markets like Turkey,” he added.
Aksu emphasized that JRO Yatırım aims to create a financial ecosystem where digital and physical assets can coexist, making the model attractive to both local and international investors. He said that digitalized solutions in fast-growing sectors such as tourism and healthcare will help draw more investors to Turkey.
Blockchain’s Role in the Real Economy
KRİPTODER President Şenol Vatansever stressed that blockchain technology has moved beyond digital currencies, enabling new models that directly impact the real economy.
He pointed out that assets such as energy projects, infrastructure rights, farmland, and healthcare facilities can now be represented digitally, making investments more transparent, traceable, and inclusive.
“This transformation can influence areas from combating informality to increasing tax revenues, boosting foreign exchange inflows, and broadening the investor base. With AI, big data, and blockchain integration, the change is becoming strategic,” Vatansever said. He praised JRO Yatırım’s visionary approach, noting that combining physical infrastructure expertise with digitalization could significantly enhance Turkey’s regional competitiveness.
Legal Frameworks Guiding the Shift
Murat Keçeciler, Board Member of CoinO, described the tokenization of real-world assets via blockchain as both a technological innovation and a catalyst for change in capital markets law.
He highlighted that secondary regulations recently issued by the Capital Markets Board (SPK) — including definitions for crypto assets, custody requirements, and internal control systems — provide critical guidance for future RWA projects.
“Tokenization can create faster, more transparent, and more accessible investment tools compared to traditional securities issuance. However, new regulations are needed to bridge SPK’s current framework with digital securities. Turkey’s ability to take a leading role in this transformation will depend not only on technology but also on legal and institutional capacity,” Keçeciler said.
