Istanbul Airport became the airport with the most flights between November 25 and December 1 in Europe.

According to the statement made by the European Air Navigation Safety Organization (EUROCONTROL), Istanbul Airport ranked first among the airports with the most flights in Europe, with an average of 1210 flights per day between 25 November and 1 December.

According to these figures, Istanbul Airport, operated by IGA, is the only airport among the 10 busiest airports in Europe to surpass its performance in 2019.

Heathrow Airport in London became the second with 1,153 flights after Istanbul Airport. Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport ranked third with 1,108 flights.

In the statement made on the social media account of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, “In the period of 25 November-1 December 2022, Istanbul Airport became the busiest airport in Europe with 1210 flights. In addition, Istanbul Airport has come to the fore as the only airport that can exceed its 2019 performance among the 10 busiest airports in Europe.”
