Istanbul Airport is at the top of Europe with the number of flights

According to EUROCONTROL’s statistics covering 22-28 July, Istanbul Airport became the airport with the most flights in Europe with an average of 1327 flights per day.

Istanbul Airport surpassed Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol airports in the “Comprehensive Evaluation Report for the period 22-28 July 2022” of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL).

Istanbul Airport, which is the airport with the most flights in Europe, had an average of 1327 flights per day during this period.

Antalya Airport, on the other hand, took the 8th place in the list with 942 flights.

Kadri Samsunlu, Chairman and General Manager of IGA Airport Operations, made a statement on social media, quoting the relevant share of EUROCONTROL General Manager Eamonn Brennan, “One more week, IGA Istanbul Airport is the winner. If you take care of your personnel, if you are ready for crisis scenarios, if you work with all your stakeholders, including DHMI, SHGM, THY and Istanbul Airport Civil Administrative Authority, with a single team spirit, it will work.”
