The “Busiest Airports in the World” report, which is updated every month, is prepared considering the total airline capacity.

According to the report in question, in August 2022, the busiest airport in terms of number of seats was Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in the USA. It was followed by Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in the USA.

IGA Istanbul Airport ranked 5th in the list, where Tokyo International Airport, located in the capital of Japan, ranked 4th.

Moved from 14th to 5th place

Rising from 14th to 5th, Istanbul Airport was followed by Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Denver International Airport in the USA.

London Heathrow Airport in the UK was ranked 8th, while Los Angeles International Airport was ranked 9th. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in the capital of France was in the 10th place of the list.
