ISTANBUL — School bus fees for the 2026-2027 academic year in Istanbul have been announced, with prices rising by 10% ahead of the new school term. The new tariff is based on the distance between students’ homes and their schools, with monthly and annual fees set separately. The listed prices represent maximum charges and include VAT.

Under the new tariff, the monthly fee for routes covering 0-1 kilometers has been set at TRY 4,456, while the annual cost will reach TRY 39,970.

Fees increase with distance. For routes of 1-3 kilometers, the monthly fee is TRY 4,772 and the annual fee is TRY 42,804. For 3-5 kilometers, the monthly charge is TRY 5,157, while the annual cost stands at TRY 46,258.

For routes between 5-7 kilometers, the monthly fee is TRY 5,379 and the annual fee is TRY 48,249. The monthly cost rises to TRY 5,671 for 7-9 kilometers, corresponding to an annual fee of TRY 50,868.

The monthly fee for 9-11 kilometers has been set at TRY 6,569, with an annual cost of TRY 58,923. For 11-13 kilometers, the monthly charge reaches TRY 7,561 and the annual fee TRY 67,822.

For 13-15 kilometers, families will pay TRY 7,942 per month or TRY 71,239 annually, while the 15-17 kilometer range will cost TRY 8,573 per month and TRY 76,899 annually.

The cost rises above TRY 9,000 per month for longer routes. The 17-19 kilometer range is priced at TRY 9,064 per month and TRY 81,304 annually, while 19-21 kilometers will cost TRY 9,645 per month and TRY 86,515 annually.

Routes Longer Than 21 Kilometers Exceed TRY 90,000 Annually

For routes between 21-23 kilometers, the monthly fee has been set at TRY 10,046, bringing the annual cost to TRY 90,112.

For 23-25 kilometers, the monthly fee rises to TRY 10,436, while the annual cost reaches TRY 93,610. Routes exceeding 25 kilometers will incur an additional TRY 87.99 for each extra kilometer.

5% Discount for Upfront Payments

Annual fees for the 2026-2027 academic year have been calculated based on an 8.97-month school period.

If schools operate two days a week, families will pay 60% of the monthly fee. The rate rises to 75% for schools operating three days a week and 90% for four-day schedules.

Parents will be able to pay the fees in installments based on annual or semester charges. Payments can be made in cash or by credit card, while a 5% discount will be offered for upfront payments.
