Kalyon Energy collaborated with JP Morgan Development Finance Institute for Kalyon Karapinar SPP

Kalyon Energy announced that it is collaborating with JP Morgan’s Development Finance Institute for the Kalyon Karapinar Solar Power Plant (GES).

According to the statement made by the company, Kalyon Energy signed a cooperation agreement with the JP Morgan Development Finance Institute to measure the impact of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and prepare an assessment at the Kalyon Karapinar SPP.

Within the scope of its cooperation, the company completed the development impact assessment report prepared using the bank’s methodology and was entitled to announce its results. While the aforementioned report certifies the contribution of the Kalyon Karapinar SPP investment to the sector, the project serves four main purposes determined under the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Kalyon Karapinar GES has been recorded as the largest financing guarantee provided by the UK Export Credit Agency (UKEF) for a solar energy project outside the borders of the UK to date. The project was financed by JP Morgan, the main organizer and loan provider of the UKEF guarantor.

Defne Arisoy, Kalyon Energy Deputy General Manager for Sustainability, whose views were given in the statement, stated that Kalyon Energy will continue to report the progress of the impact indicators determined in the Sustainable Development Goals Impact Assessment, and said:

“This cooperation is very valuable to us. While the Sustainable Development Goals Impact Assessment allowed us to clarify our ongoing commitments to impact reporting, it also revealed that the investment’s contribution to the impact ecosystem is very high. As Kalyon Energy, we have established a management system that focuses on sustainability, and we will continue to report and announce our impact investment results with the principles that contribute to global development goals in every step we take.’
