ISTANBUL, September 1, 2026 — Koç Holding has become a “Global Business Partner” of COP31, the United Nations climate change summit that Türkiye will host for the first time in Antalya from November 9-20.
As part of its partnership, the 100-year-old Koç Group will share its experience in sustainability, technology, innovation and sustainable finance with national and international stakeholders during the summit.
Koç Holding to Contribute to COP31 Agenda
Türkiye’s Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister and COP31 President Murat Kurum met with Koç Holding Vice Chairman Ali Y. Koç and CEO Levent Çakıroğlu to discuss the group’s planned contributions to COP31.
Kurum said Türkiye would bring together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, financial institutions and civil society to demonstrate the country’s commitment to climate action.
He said Koç Group’s participation as a Global Business Partner would help strengthen private-sector involvement and contribute to turning climate commitments into concrete actions.
Ali Koç: COP31 Is a Historic Opportunity
Ali Y. Koç said Koç Group was proud to contribute to Türkiye’s representation as the Global Business Partner of one of the world’s most important climate platforms.
He described Türkiye’s hosting of COP31 as a historic opportunity to demonstrate the country’s determination to achieve its climate targets and showcase its competitiveness in the green transition.
Koç said the group remains committed to its 2050 carbon-neutral target and would continue encouraging its business partners to undertake the necessary transformation.
Koç Group Operates in More Than 60 Countries
Koç noted that the group operates in more than 60 countries and exports to more than 155 countries, with more than 95% of its revenues generated from sectors at the center of the transition, including energy, automotive, consumer durables and finance.
He said climate change represents not only an environmental challenge but also a significant business risk, affecting industrial competitiveness and the future of companies.
Koç added that Koç Group is using its technology and innovation capabilities as part of its strategic response to climate change.
Focus on Clean Energy and Sustainable Finance
Koç Holding has been investing in areas including clean energy, electrification, energy and resource efficiency, climate technologies, the circular economy and sustainable finance for many years.
Ali Koç said COP31 would provide a valuable platform for the group to showcase these initiatives and develop new partnerships with stakeholders from Türkiye and around the world.
He emphasized the importance of transforming climate commitments made by the business community into concrete and commercially viable solutions.
