Kocaer Steel’s First-Quarter Profit Declines Year-on-Year

Date: May 2026

Kocaer Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. has reported a decline in its financial performance for the first quarter of 2026, according to its latest balance sheet disclosed on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).

Net Profit Drops Significantly

The company’s net profit for the first quarter fell sharply compared to the same period last year, decreasing by roughly half, signaling a notable slowdown in profitability.

Despite remaining profitable, the year-on-year decline highlights growing pressures on the company’s earnings during the period.

Financial Results Announced

The financial results cover the period between January 1 and March 31, 2026, and were officially released on May 5, 2026, in line with the company’s financial reporting schedule.

Other sources indicate that the company recorded approximately 118.8 million TL in net profit during the quarter, reflecting the reduced performance compared to the previous year.

Market Context

The decline comes amid broader challenges in the global steel industry, where demand growth has remained relatively flat and market conditions have been more cautious.

Analysts suggest that fluctuating input costs, global demand uncertainties, and pricing pressures may have contributed to the weaker year-on-year results.
