KolayBi’, a cloud-based new generation accounting and finance platform that brings SMEs in Turkiye together with up-to-date solutions, has announced its new development. Within the scope of the accommodation tax that came into effect with the new year, KolayBi’ has completed the development process so that businesses operating in the tourism and hotel industry can add accommodation tax to their sales invoices.

With the accommodation tax, which was regulated by the Revenue Administration and entered into force on January 1, 2023, all services such as overnight services and also food and beverage, activities, pool use, which are sold together with it, started to be subject to 2% tax. Developing financial services and pre-accounting solutions for many businesses, especially SMEs, in line with current needs, KolayBi’ completed the necessary developments. Accommodation tax, which must be calculated externally in line with the regulation, can be added to the invoices thanks to the new feature of KolayBi’. In addition, businesses can choose this tax type for each product/service on a line-based basis.

Tax can be added to the relevant product and then invoiced automatically.

Eray Balat, CTO of KolayBi’, who stated that they made development plans for the up-to-date needs of SMEs and businesses and put them into use quickly: “The 2% accommodation tax excluding VAT, which has been enacted for businesses working in the tourism and hotel sector, has led to a new need for invoicing. Due to this legal obligation, we quickly made the necessary improvements and offered them to our users as of January 1st. In this way, users can add accommodation tax as an extra in the products/services, invoices and general expenses they create. For each product/service they add to their invoices, they can choose this tax type on a line-based basis. If the user wishes, he can add this tax to the relevant product instead of adding tax to the product one by one while issuing an invoice. It can then automatically issue invoices. In the first month of the year, we provided convenience to businesses with our system that worked smoothly. We will continue to develop for all sectors within the scope of new legislations.”
