In order to prevent fluctuations in food prices and reduce their impact on inflation, 4 important systems are put into operation as of October. Accordingly, fresh fruits and vegetables left in the field and in the fields will be brought to the market. These products will be included in the digital agriculture market and will be brought to the buyers quickly. Thus, all farmers will be able to find a market for their products, tradesmen and consumers will be able to supply products of the desired quality. Changes in climate, disaster and crop planting behaviors affect food prices, which have a significant weight in the inflation basket, and cause fluctuations. An early warning system is established in order to prevent these fluctuations and reduce their impact on inflation. The early warning system, which Central Bank Governor Sahap Kavcioglu stated that they are carrying out intensive work and that they will share with the public soon, is also put into practice as of September 30. With this system, risks such as temperature, precipitation, frost, hail, disease, and sunlight will be instantly detected in all regions, and supply deficiencies that may arise will be determined on a product basis.

Especially in the production, wholesale and retail stages, the entire food chain will be monitored and reported instantly. In this process, it will be determined by experts that the signals obtained at different stages can create a supply deficiency in which products. In order to prevent food waste, the food banking system will be made attractive and expanded. The number of food banks, which is a method of preventing waste and social solidarity network, which has been applied for nearly 20 years in Turkey, has reached 30 thousand in the world.

MEASURE TAKEN BEFORE REFLECTING ON PRICES

Temporary foreign trade measures and measures will be applied to market imbalances caused by temporary supply shortages, before the said supply shortages are reflected in prices. Appropriate incentives and measures will be developed to address permanent supply shortages. The system will contribute to the development of incentives and measures to eliminate permanent supply deficiencies. With the new system, measures will be determined on foreign trade and tax issues, if needed, by using data on agricultural production and price monitoring.
