Local digital broadcasting platform GAIN was acquired by Rams Turkiye Group

GAIN, which started its broadcasting life as Turkiye’s digital broadcasting platform established with 100% domestic investment in December 2020, was acquired by Rams Turkiye Group.

With this acquisition, Rams Turkiye acquired all of the GAIN shares. Gozde Akpinar, the Founder of GAIN, will continue to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors until June 1, within the scope of the relevant purchasing process.

Gozde Akpinar made a statement about the acquisition;

“In our more than three-year-long GAIN journey, we have made an important decision. With the common struggle of all of us, our company, which we brought from scratch to today, is now entering a new era. As of today, we have shaken hands for the purchase of all shares of GAIN by Rams Turkiye. For GAIN, Turkiye’s digital platform established with 100% domestic investment, our dream since the first day was to create a brand that expands from our country to the global. In the sector where we have global giant competitors, we have established a strong bond with our audience by understanding each other better by doing different things with our team and business partners who believe in us. I wish that this sale will be beneficial for our country and that this bond will continue to develop.” Sharing the knowledge that she will remain at her post until June 1, Akpinar said, “I would like to share the knowledge that while GAIN continues the same innovative and high quality content without slowing down, I would like to share the knowledge that we will continue on the road with our colleagues, who have made great effort and contribution to GAIN’s success.”

Distinguishes from its domestic competitors with 90% original content

Founded in December 2020 with the motto of “Quality time, valuable content”, the digital content platform GAIN has become one of the main players in its field, surpassing 2 million users in a short time. In addition to its catalog that appeals to audiences of all ages and styles, it is positioned in a different place among other platforms with its competitive membership fee. GAIN, which has been broadcasting 90% original content since the day it was founded, has made a splash with productions such as Ayak Isleri, Hamlet, Aslinda Ozgursun, On Bin Adim, Metot, Terapist, Cezailer ve Etkileyici, bringing together Turkiye’s master actors and teams. In cooperation with BBC Studios, it brought BBC First series to its members. It has managed to differentiate itself from the competition with earth and human documentaries, live talk shows and news programs, and has expanded its audience, especially with live news broadcasts recently.

Akpinar’s second successful debut

Gozde Akpinar was born in Istanbul in 1980. After studying at Saint Joseph French High School, she graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, Department of Business Administration and Economics. Then she continued her education on business and economics at the University of Portsmouth in England. Gozde Akpinar, who served as the Chairman of the Board of Betek Paint and Chemistry Industry Inc. between 2007 and 2019, continued the sector leadership that Filli Boya reached in 2001. In 2019, she made its first successful debut by selling all the shares of Betek Boya and its subsidiaries, which also includes the Filli Boya brand, to Japan-based Nippon Paint Holdings. In 2020, she established Gain Media Inc., which she described as “the job that lies in my heart”, and assumed the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.
