It is a technology that practically shows whether the factors such as appropriate time, temperature and gas of sterilization devices have a full and sufficient effect. These indicators work by changing the color of the active substance, which is specially produced according to the sterilization type. If the desired color change does not occur, the sterilization process needs to be repeated. Thanks to its ease of use and high accuracy rate, the indicator strip plays a major role in reducing post-operative bacterial and viral indications.
Funding was requested for the production of indicator strips showing the effectiveness of sterilization devices (autoclaves) using different work programs. It visually informs the surgical team about the sterilization approval of instruments that are thought to be sterile at the time of surgical procedures, in a short and clear way. In this way, it is the first step to prevent infections that are likely to be transmitted during the surgical procedure. This process provides vital information about the cleaning of equipment to all healthcare personnel who are active before and during the operation.
According to the data published by the Ministry of Health, a total of 3,722,218 surgeries were performed in 2020 and ₺353 billion 941 million of health expenditure was made according to the data of 2021. These data remind us once again the importance of the health sector. Before each operation, the materials used on the patient must be sterilized. Indicators used to test the accuracy of the sterilization process play a vital role in preventing negative situations that may occur after the operation.
These indicators are used not only in hospitals and dentistry clinics, but also in areas where surgical procedures are performed intensively, such as veterinarians and aesthetic medicine centers. During the sterilization process, the indicators are placed between the instruments to be used in the surgery, and after the procedure, the color change on the indicator according to the type of sterilization confirms that the sterilization takes place at a lethal level against unwanted microorganisms. If the indicator does not give a successful result, the sterilization process must be repeated.
In the project, after the funding is successfully closed and the fund amount is transferred to the entrepreneur’s account, a buy-back guarantee is given for 24 to 36 months over the sales amount in the crowdfunding.
With the investment, the venture plans to produce 43,100 boxes of indicator strips at the end of the first year and 86,200 boxes at the end of the second year.
