Metro Istanbul and Pegasus Airlines signed a station naming agreement

Pegasus Airlines Senior Manager Guliz Ozturk said, “We care about facilitating transportation to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and from Sabiha Gokcen to many points of the city. Naming the subway station is therefore very valuable to us.”

Metro Istanbul, one of the subsidiaries of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), and Pegasus Airlines signed a contract for the naming rights of the Sabiha Gokcen Airport station.

According to the statement made by the company, Pegasus Airlines and Metro Istanbul, a subsidiary of IMM, signed the naming rights agreement for the last station of the M4 Kadikoy-Sabiha Gokcen Airport Metro Line.

Ozgur Soy, General Manager of Metro Istanbul, whose views are included in the statement, stated that all the leading metro companies in the world focused on increasing their non-travel revenues in the post-epidemic period when there were great economic difficulties in the public transportation sector, and said, “The main of these revenues are real estate, commercial space and advertising/sponsorship revenues. In recent years, we have made significant strides to increase commercial area revenues. The naming rights agreement with Pegasus is a different and new step added to these breakthroughs. Within the framework of the contract we signed, the name of the last station of our M4 line will be referred to as ‘Pegasus-Sabiha Gokcen Airport Station’ for 3 years.”

Pegasus Airlines Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Guliz Ozturk stated that as Pegasus Airlines, they believe that air transportation should be easy, accessible and affordable, “For this reason, we care about making it easier to reach Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport, which is our home where we fly most of our flights for about 18 years, and from Sabiha Gokcen to many points of the city. That’s why it’s very valuable to us that the subway station is named after us.”
