Central Bank Governor Karahan met with Turkish bankers and talked about the banking sector’s future

President of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye, Dr. Fatih Karahan met with the members of the Board of Directors of the Banks Association of Turkiye. In the statement made by the Banks Association of Turkiye, “The meeting where the latest situation in the banking sector and future expectations were evaluated was very productive.”

In the statement made by the Banks Association of Turkiye (TBB), it was reported that President Karahan met with TBB Chairman of the Board of Directors Alpaslan Cakar and the general managers of the banks that are members of the Board of Directors.

In the statement, it was stated that the meeting, in which the latest situation in the banking sector and future expectations were evaluated in line with current macroeconomic developments, was very productive, and added: “Regulations to increase the share of Turkish lira deposits, simplification and quantitative tightening steps in the macroprudential framework, as well as the monetary policy outlook within the scope of the disinflation process were the main agenda items of the meeting. “

In the statement, it was stated that CBRT President Fatih Karahan and TBB President Alpaslan Cakar expressed their satisfaction with the coordinated work of the Central Bank and the banking sector.
