Minister Kacır: “We Increased the Number of Organized Industrial Zones from 191 to 371 in the Last 23 Years”

Ankara — Türkiye’s Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that the number of Organized Industrial Zones (OSBs) across the country has nearly doubled in the past 23 years, underscoring their growing role in supporting high-tech and value-added production.

Kacır shared the update on social media, celebrating the establishment of two new zones — Ankara Anadolu Recycling Specialized OSB and Çorum Central 2nd OSB — and highlighting their contribution to Turkey’s industrial expansion.

“Turkey’s production hubs, our Organized Industrial Zones, continue to grow. In the last 23 years, we increased the number of OSBs from 191 to 371, and their total area from 48,000 hectares to 130,000 hectares,” Kacır stated.

He also emphasized the surge in industrial activity and employment within these zones:

“The number of operational production sites in OSBs rose from 11,000 to 60,000, while employment grew from 415,000 to 2.7 million. We have transformed OSBs into centers of high-technology and value-added production.”

Kacır reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting Turkey’s industrialists and manufacturers, saying:

“With all our means, we will continue to stand by our industrial community.”

The expansion of OSBs is seen as a key pillar in Turkey’s strategy to enhance domestic manufacturing capacity, attract investment, and boost exports through innovation-driven, sustainable industrial growth.
