Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati evaluated the labor force statistics for July, announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in his post on his Twitter account.
Emphasizing that the country has grown rapidly and created employment with the Turkish Economy Model, Nebati said:
“We continue to reduce unemployment with our investment, production, employment and export-oriented growth policy. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased by 0.3 points in July 2022 compared to the previous month and became 10.1%. In the past 2 years, the decrease in the unemployment rate has exceeded 4 points. Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate and the number of unemployed in the 15-24 age group decreased by 0.8 points in July 2022 compared to the previous month.”
Nebati emphasized that they are taking firm steps towards the target of an annual average employment increase of 890 thousand people and single-digit unemployment rate included in the Medium Term Program.
Underlining that they prioritize more production and higher employment with every step they take, Nebati said, “We will continue on the road by producing and creating employment, not by dragging our economy into recession. Our steps that support and encourage investment and employment will continue.”
