Minister of Transport gave information about the latest situation in 1915 Canakkale Bridge and Kanal Istanbul

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu made important statements in the live broadcast he attended. Stating that they are preparing the 1915 Canakkale Bridge to be put into service on March 18, 2022, Minister Karaismailoglu said, “According to the current ship schedule, a fee of ₺85 is charged to the cars. Accordingly, when the bridge is opened, the toll fee will be €15.” Karaismailoglu, who also conveyed the latest situation regarding the Kanal Istanbul project, said, “We have overcome big projects such as Istanbul Airport, Northern Marmara Highway, Marmaray. Expressing that the opposition did not want the First Bosphorus Bridge either, Karaismailoglu said, “We have overcome major projects such as Istanbul Airport, Northern Marmara Motorway, and Marmaray. Kanal Istanbul remains. Our work continues quickly. Hopefully, we will make the tender as soon as possible and start quickly. An alternative waterway is needed to manage the ship traffic in the Bosphorus. It is necessary to think and examine all of these and create projects against them. Kanal Istanbul is the result of these.”

MUCILAGE PROBLEM IN MARMARA

Saying that Kanal Istanbul should be built for the mucilage problem in the Marmara Sea, Karaismailoglu said, “Mucilage occurs due to the increase in the temperature of the water, the inactivity of the water and the pollution in the environment. Kanal Istanbul will cause an increase in the movement there.”
