Cargo brought by ship from Ivory Coast was sent to Europe by train from Tekirdag

The cargo, which was brought from Cote d’Ivoire to Asiaport Port in Tekirdag, was sent to Europe by train.

Containers containing various products were brought to the port by ship. Containers unloaded from the ship were transferred to the Medlog Train Station.

Later, the train, in which the containers were loaded, was sent off to Bulgaria with a ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tekirdag Governor Aziz Yildirim said that Turkey is in a very important geographic location, connecting the east and the west.

“Today we are seeing off the first transit export containers”

Stating that countries have developed with the efforts of industrialists and merchant transporters, Yildirim said:

“The trade we call transit, as you know, is the exchange of goods between two countries. It is a form of trade in the third country it passes through, without any customs clearance. It comes from the Ivory Coast, it goes from here to Bulgaria. The material that would reach Bulgaria from here with a difference of 10-12 days before, will now be at the factory as of tomorrow evening. It really is an important difference. Especially in the industry, in areas where competition is very tight, I present to your appreciation what this 10-12 day time difference means. Today we are seeing off the first transit export containers.”

Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Kadir Albayrak, Chairman of Asiaport Board of Directors Ahmet Soyuer and Chairman of Tekirdag Chamber of Commerce and Industry Cengiz Gunay also attended the ceremony.
