Global index provider MSCI has revised its upcoming index changes, reversing its previous decision to add three Turkish stocks to the MSCI Turkey Small Cap Index.
MSCI had previously announced that Tera Yatırım Menkul (TERA), Tera Finansal Yatırımlar Holding (TRHOL), and Kardemir B (KRDMB) would be added to the index. However, in its latest update, the index provider said the three stocks would not be added. The revised changes will take effect on September 1, 2026.
Three Stocks Removed From Addition List
MSCI’s latest announcement reduced the number of new additions to the MSCI Turkey Small Cap Index from six to three.
The three companies that will still be added to the index are:
- Borusan Boru (BRSAN)
- Europower Enerji (EUPWR)
- Rönesans Gayrimenkul (RGYAS)
Meanwhile, Arçelik (ARCLK) and Katılımevim (KTLEV) will be removed from the Small Cap Index as previously announced.
Astor Energy Addition Unchanged
MSCI also maintained its decision to add Astor Enerji (ASTOR) to the MSCI Turkey Standard Index.
The latest revision means that, effective September 1, two companies will leave the MSCI Turkey Small Cap Index while three will be added.
The last-minute revision comes after MSCI had raised concerns about changes in the free-float ratios and price movements of some Turkish stocks. The developments are being closely followed ahead of MSCI’s next review of Türkiye in November.
