New player for the electric scooter rental market: Kedi Scooters

The electric scooter adventure of Istanbul started with Marti, which entered our lives as an electric scooter rental initiative in March 2019. After Marti, many brands started to serve in this field such as, Palm, BinBin, Hop! and Dost.

Nowadays, there is a new brand started to serve in this field. The start-up called Kedi Scooters recently started offering both electric scooter and electric bike rental services. Kedi Scooters, founded by Ali Metehan Karaaslan, has a similar working logic with its rivals.

In order to be able to use Kedi Scooters, which has mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms, you must first become a member of the application. Then you can see the closest electric scooters and bicycles on the application map.

When you go near to the electric scooter or bike of your choice, you need to scan the QR code on the product. After using the electric scooter or bike, you have to park just like on other platforms and complete your ride by taking a photo of the parked product in the application.

Kedi Scooters is a relatively affordable alternative, the starting price of electric scooters is 1.75 liras and the starting price of electric bicycles is 2.99 liras. When we look at the price of per minute, we see that it is 0.55 liras for electric scooters and 0.79 liras for electric bicycles. As a reminder, people demanded 1.99 liras and 0.59 liras as the opening fee of Marti, the most important player in the marketplace.

Kedi scooters offer a very comfortable ride thanks to their shock absorbers allowing you to switch between speed modes. When we look at the map in the Kedi application, we see that the Kedi initiative serves in Kadikoy, Atasehir, Besiktas and Arnavutkoy regions.
