As part of the order, a Boeing 737 MAX full flight simulator is scheduled to be delivered to the airline in January of next year. Turkish Airlines (THY) has announced that it has placed a new full flight simulator order with HAVELSAN for the Boeing 737 MAX model.
According to a statement from THY’s Media Relations Office, this new order is an addition to the previously delivered devices within the scope of its collaboration with HAVELSAN.
The order, which is planned to be delivered in January of next year to further strengthen THY’s pilot training infrastructure, reflects the national carrier’s aim to expand its simulator fleet and enhance its technological capabilities.
THY Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, whose comments were included in the statement, emphasized that this new order is a concrete indicator of the trust placed in HAVELSAN, which develops high technology through domestic and national resources.
Bolat noted that the additional order further advances THY’s strategic cooperation with HAVELSAN and clearly demonstrates the airline’s commitment to world-class pilot training:
“In addition to increasing the number of simulators, we are strengthening our training infrastructure with advanced technology and reliable systems to ensure that our pilots maintain Turkish Airlines’ globally recognized high standards of safety and service,” he said.
HAVELSAN CEO Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar stated that the cooperation with THY has been further strengthened with the third B737 MAX full flight simulator order:
“The continued trust of THY, one of the world’s leading airlines, is a strong indication of our capabilities and our commitment to pursuing excellence,” he said.
HAVELSAN Simulators in THY’s Inventory
Under the agreement between THY and HAVELSAN, a total of 11 training devices—including 3 A320 neo/ceo, 2 B737 MAX full flight simulators, and 6 flight training devices—were ordered in 2018.
As of today, THY actively uses two B737 MAX and two A320 neo/ceo full flight simulators, as well as the first HAVELSAN-manufactured simulator, a B737NG received in 2016, which is certified with the EASA Level D and operates successfully in the airline’s training centers.
In addition, the A320 neo/ceo simulator ordered under the previous agreement is scheduled to be delivered in November of this year.
With the new B737 MAX simulator expected to be delivered in January 2026, the total number of HAVELSAN-manufactured simulators in Turkish Airlines’ inventory is planned to reach seven.
