Overseas Producer Price Index increased by 1.34% in October

Overseas Producer Price Index increased by 1.34% on a monthly basis in October. Turkish Statistical Institute announced the YD-PPI data for October.

Accordingly, in October, YD-PPI increased by 1.34% on a monthly basis, by 42.6% compared to December of the previous year, by 103.79% compared to the same month of the previous year and by 101.19% compared to the twelve-month averages.

Looking at the annual changes in the two sectors of the industry, there was an increase of 107.98% in mining and quarrying, and 103.72% in manufacturing.

Considering the annual changes of the main industry groups, an increase of 112.88% in intermediate goods, 99.16% in durable goods, 95.98% in non-durable goods, 165.85% in energy and 96.16% in capital goods.

When the monthly changes in the two sectors of the industry are analyzed, a 0.17% decrease in mining and quarrying and an increase of 1.37% in manufacturing were calculated.

Considering the monthly changes of the main industrial groups, an increase of 0.82% in intermediate goods, 1.72% in durable goods, 1.5% in non-durable goods, 0.93% in energy and 1.97% in capital goods were determined.

According to the annual YD-PPI, 12 sub-sectors changed lower and 13 sub-sectors showed higher changes.

Among the YD-PPI sectors, tobacco products with 71.78%, clothing with 72.17% and metal ores with 84.82% were the sub-sectors in which the indexes increased the least. On the other hand, coke and refined petroleum products were calculated as 165.85%, other non-metallic mineral products with 136.3%, chemicals and chemical products with 129.34%, as the sub-sectors with the highest increase in indices.

According to the monthly YD-PPI, 11 sub-sectors changed lower and 14 sub-sectors showed higher changes.

Looking at the changes on a monthly basis, metal ores from the YD-PPI sectors, with 2.46%, basic metals by 0.85%, and other manufactured goods by 0.06%, were the sub-sectors where the indices decreased the most. On the other hand, machinery and equipment not classified elsewhere were recorded as the sub-sectors with the highest increase in the indexes with 5.86%, computers and electronic and optical products by 5.86%, and other non-metallic mineral products by 3.54%.
