Event hosts 60,000 foreign, domestic visitors
The 26th edition of Eurasia Packaging Fair, hosting 60,000 foreign and domestic visitors, opened its doors in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul.
Starting on Wednesday, the fair, organized with the cooperation of Reed Tuyap Fairs and the Packaging Manufacturers Association, will host visitors and sector professionals till Saturday.
Ali Muharremoglu, the general manager of Reed Tuyap, said in a press release on Thursday that the event is expected to be attended by 10,000 foreign visitors from Russia, Iran, the Middle East, Balkans,Caucasus, and North Africa.
He also said the event hosts around 1,000 purchasing delegation members from 30 countries.
Zeki Saribekir, the head of the association, said the package consumption doubled over the past 15 years.
“Turkey’s packaging industry takes firm steps for being Europe’s production center and our sector has been enlarging rapidly,” he stressed.
The sector’s export volume reached $5.15 billion last year and $3.04 billion in the first half of this year, he recalled.
“We believe that we will reach the target of $6.5 billion level in 2030,” he added.
