Park Electricity stated that production activities in Gaziantep could start in mid-March

Park Electricity Production Mining Industry and Trade Inc. stated that the electricity production line in the mining fields in Gaziantep has not been energized yet, and that the production activities in the field can be resumed in mid-March.

The company’s statement regarding the mining activities in Gaziantep’s Islahiye district was published on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).

In the statement, it was reminded that the production activities in the bauxite field in Islahiye, where the company has an operating license, were suspended due to earthquakes affecting 11 provinces in Kahramanmaras.

As a result of the preliminary situation determination studies carried out in the region, the repair works carried out to ensure transportation between the working areas in the mine site and Islahiye are about to be completed.

In the statement, it was emphasized that no significant damage could be detected in the buildings in the construction site and the machinery and equipment in the facility, and said, ‘The electricity production line of the mining site cannot be energized yet, and the control of the line and the necessary repair works have been started by CTC Electricity Production Mining Industry and Trade Inc.’

In the statement, it was stated that it was evaluated that production activities in the field could be resumed in mid-March within the framework of the meetings held with CTC Energy officials working as a royalty company in the field, and the following was noted:

The annual minimum production commitment of ‘CTC Energy’ for the 4th royalty year, which started on July 27, 2022, is 1 million tons in accordance with the royalty agreement, and the said commitment level before the earthquake has already been reached at approximately 97%. Due to earthquakes which are force majeure in accordance with royalty contract, the losses to be experienced in production activities in February and March can also be compensated in the remaining months of the royalty year, in parallel with the production level realized in the 3rd and 3rd royalty years, it is predicted that approximately 1.4-1.5 million tons of production will be reached in the 4th royalty year. Necessary explanations will be made regarding the course of production activities in the field.’
