Peak Games owner Zynga sold for $12.7 billion

Take-Two, which includes Rockstar Games and 2K companies, has acquired Zynga, the creator of the game “FarmVille” and the owner of Peak Games.

In a statement from Take-Two, the company reportedly acquired Zynga for $12.7 billion at a price of $9.86 per share.

In the statement, it was stated that the said offer was 64% above the stock market closing price of Zynga stock on January 7, 2022.

Shareholders of Zynga will receive $3.5 cash per share and $6.36 Take-Two shares per Zynga share, the statement said. It was also noted that the acquisition is expected to create an annual cost synergy of $100 million in the first 2 years.

Zynga announced in June 2020 that it had acquired Turkish mobile game manufacturer Peak Games for $1.8 billion. Thus, Peak Games became Turkey’s first unicorn.
