Planning of agricultural production will increase productivity in Turkiye

Nihat Celik, Chairman of TUDKIYEB, said, “Which product and how much our farmers will produce will be determined in advance, so that grievances arising from supply and demand will be prevented.”

Turkiye Sheep Goat Breeders’ Central Union (TUDKIYEB) Chairman Nihat Celik stated that productivity will increase with the planning of agricultural production, “More importantly, which product and how much our farmers will produce will be determined in advance, thus, grievances arising from supply and demand will be prevented.”

Celik, in his written statement, stated that the problems in the agricultural sector will be left behind with the enactment of the law amendment proposal, which covers important regulations in the fields of agriculture and forestry.

Noting that a very important step has been taken, especially in the planning of production, with the regulations, Celik said, “With the planning of agricultural production, the efficiency of our 85 million population will be increased as well as ensuring food security. More importantly, which product and how much our farmers will produce will be determined in advance, thus, grievances arising from supply and demand will be prevented. Therefore, we see a good production planning by our Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry as an important move that will pave the way for the sector.”

Pointing out that the issues of contracted production and the acquisition of vacant lands for production have also been enacted, Celik stated that the marketing problems of the farmers will be eliminated with contracted production. Celik underlined that special attention should be given to small cattle breeding within the scope of contracted production.

Stating that it is very important to cooperate with the relevant institutions and organizations while determining the policies, Celik thanked the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişci and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs Committee Yunus Kiliv.
