ISTANBUL — The fully electric Presidential DS N°8, specially developed by DS Automobiles for the French Presidency, made its international debut at the Revelations Fair, an international biennial for fine crafts and design.
According to a statement from the company, the vehicle was first introduced by the President of the French Republic during the Victory Day commemoration on May 8. It is now being showcased to the public at the Grand Palais as part of the DS Automobiles exhibit at the Revelations Fair.
A Redefined Design of Artisanal Excellence
Blending the art of travel with technical expertise and craftsmanship, the Presidential DS N°8 was redesigned with contributions from French artisans and partners. The model features a unique sapphire blue color, developed exclusively for Élysée Palace vehicles, and a DS Luminascreen illuminated grille that lights up in blue, white, and red.
Additional design details include flag holders integrated into the front bumper, and a tricolor emblem on the hood and trunk—highlighting the craftsmanship spirit of the DS x MÉTIERS D’ART design competition and DS’s recent concept cars.
The vehicle’s front panel, doors, and speaker grilles feature woven marquetry designed and handcrafted by Lison de Caunes Ateliers. The door panels are covered in blue satin produced from Verel de Belval fabrics, selected by Maison Metaphores and pleated at Maison Lognon using traditional cardboard mold techniques to create a sunray-inspired pattern.
The DS Design Studio upholstery experts, based in the Paris region, designed and crafted the door coverings and center console, which is embroidered with the official emblem of the French Republic.
The armored vehicle specialist Centigon, based in Lamballe, contributed its expertise to adapt the model for presidential use.
Made in France: 100% Electric Performance
The Presidential DS N°8 is powered by a fully electric drivetrain produced in France. Its battery is supplied by the Automotive Cells Company (ACC) from the Gigafactory in Billy Berclau Douvrin, while the 350-horsepower electric motor is manufactured by EMotors in Tremery.
The vehicle boasts an impressive range of up to 750 kilometers. Its premium sound system was developed by Focal, a long-time partner of DS Automobiles.
Vincent Lobry, Head of Color, Material, and Finish Design at DS Automobiles, emphasized in the statement that the interior of the model represents the synergy of diverse expertises working together.
