Production index per person employed in the industry increased by 4.1% in the first quarter

The index of production per person employed in the industry increased by 4.1% in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period of the previous year.

The Ministry of Industry and Technology announced the productivity statistics for the period of January-March 2022.

Accordingly, the calendar adjusted total industrial production per employee per capita index increased by 4.1% in the said period compared to the same period of the previous year.

Seasonally and calendar adjusted total industrial production per capita increased by 0.5% compared to the last quarter of 2021.

In the first quarter of this year, the index of total industrial production per hour worked increased by 2.2% on an annual basis, while it decreased by 0.1% on a quarterly basis.

The highest increase is in the production of durable consumer goods

When the calendar adjusted data for main industry groups are analyzed, the highest annual increase in the production index per worker was realized in the production of non-durable consumption goods with 8.7%.

Compared to the previous quarter, the highest increase in the production index per employee, adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, was in the production of capital goods with 3.5%.
