Proemtia: A marketplace that brings together buyers and sellers in the iron and steel industry from Isbank

Turkiye Is Bankasi launched the digital marketplace platform Proemtia, a first in our country, in order to mediate the trade of industrial products.

Proemtia was launched primarily for the products of the iron and steel industry. The digital platform, which will expand the product category in the future, facilitates trade by bringing together buyers and sellers from different points of Turkiye on the same platform.

With the platform, Isbank aims to contribute to the development and digitalization of industrial commodity trade, where traditional ways of doing business remain important, and to be an important reference point in this development.

80 products are traded under 5 main categories in the iron and steel sector in Proemtia.

Platform, which includes 80 products in 35 sub-categories under 5 main categories, including flat products, long products, box profiles, pipes and stainless products at the first stage, and can be accessed via www.proemtia.com, after the iron and steel industry, it will expand its field of activity and volume to include other industrial products that have an important place in the country’s economy and need digitalization.

For buyers, Procomtia offers opportunities such as quick access to first-quality products, competitive and transparent prices, deferred payment, search by location, and instant logistics offers, through approved vendors that meet certain criteria. It also provides advantages such as quickly uploading and updating their products and prices to the system, accessing new customers and regions through a new and fast sales channel, expanding the product range and forward sales.

“The iron and steel industry has become even more critical for our country after the earthquakes”

Burak Seyrek, Deputy General Manager of Isbank, said;

“As a country, we have all experienced very painful days due to earthquake disasters recently. About 10 provinces that were heavily damaged by earthquakes will need to be rebuilt. Therefore, the iron and steel industry has become even more critical for our country after the earthquakes. During the construction of the region, there will be a very serious need for iron and steel in a short time. With the platform on which we have been working for several years, we will also contribute to meeting the needs quickly and easily. We hope that we will never encounter such disasters, but when we face a disaster such as an earthquake, we once again understood how strong the real sector, our national industry, should be.”

Burak Seyrek emphasized that with Proemtia, they aimed to contribute to the production of high quality production with added value based on technology in the iron and steel industry in the first place, increase in exports and diversification of the market, to take necessary steps for the sustainability of the industry, and that they also wanted the industry to play a catalyst role in their investments that would enable them to comply with the requirements of digitalization and Industry 4.0.

“We dream that it will turn into a global commodity exchange and become a value of our country”

Pointing to the major commodity exchanges in the world, Seyrek emphasized that Turkiye has the potential to become one of the important centers for commodities on a global scale with its strategic and logistics location, infrastructure, industry and manpower.

Saying that he sees Proemtia as a valuable cooperation between the financial sector and real sector players, Seyrek said, “This year we are in the 100th anniversary of our Republic. We want our country to become a much more dynamic and stronger center in trade in the second century of our Republic. Proemtia is not a platform of Isbank, it is a platform of the whole industry and our country. At this point, in our journey that started with the commodity platform, we dream that Procomtia will turn into a global commodity exchange at international standards over time and become an asset of our country in the international arena, and we set out with this vision.”

“A start-up we have brought to life with the contributions of Softtech and Moka”

Proemtia General Manager Umut Feyzioglu, in his statement about the newly launched Proemtia;

“At this point, we determined the needs of industrial commodity trade, and then we implemented Procomtia, a transparent, reliable and collaborative marketplace that will meet the needs of buyers and sellers in industrial product shopping at the same time. We can consider the platform as a start-up that we launched with the contributions of Softtech, our software and technology company, and Moka, our subsidiary in the field of financial technology. We aim to play an important role in the digital transformation of the industrial commodity sector, starting with iron and steel, by making all our stakeholders in our marketplace feel all the advantages of digitalization.”

“The delivery time of the products is maximum 3 working days”

Stating that the share of e-commerce in total trade in Turkiye has increased continuously and reached 18.6% in 2022, Feyzioglu said that there is still a significant potential in our country in this field when compared to the penetration in European countries.
