Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoglu announced that the use of electric scooters, which is an environmentally friendly means of transportation, will begin in the distribution services of the PTT in Istanbul. It was noted that Istanbul will start with 100 scooters.
Adil Karaismailoglu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, who attended the “Use of Electric Scooter in Distribution Services” ceremony of PTT Inc. in Atasehir, stated that they aim to expand and accelerate digitalization and mobility in all business areas and said, “New trends are emerging in the needs and expectations of societies in transportation. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we are implementing important projects to develop applications that reflect our sensitivity to nature and to quickly complete our integration into this period that makes life easier. As of today, PTT deliverymen in Istanbul will make their deliveries with electric scooters, an environmentally friendly transportation vehicle. Stating that they are seeing more and more electric and non-electric micro-mobility vehicles with an average speed of 25 kilometers per hour in cities, he said: “In addition to preventing traffic congestion and parking problems, micro-mobility vehicles, which are environmentally friendly systems in terms of carbon, add comfort to city life with their noiseless nature. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we attach great importance to increasing the quality of life of our citizens, supporting their mental and physical health, and bringing these environmentally friendly systems to our country with the systems we have created based on this fact, our legislation regulations and our incentive policies.
One of the best examples of our services will be our PTT’s initiation and dissemination of electric scooters. This important step taken by our Post and Telegraph Organization in distribution services is a product of our environment-oriented service approach. Our PTT increases the number of environmentalist practices and demonstrates its sensitivity in this field with concrete practices. We believe that the application, whose pilot study will start in Istanbul, will be welcomed by our citizens and will expand to cover other provinces in a short time.”

STARTS WITH 100 SCOOTERS
The pilot application will start with 100 scooters in Istanbul as of today. Postmen working at PTT Inc. will use electric scooters while delivering their deliveries. After the ceremony, Minister Karaismailoglu visited Acıbadem Mail Processing Center with Hakan Gulten, General Manager of PTT Inc.
