Record from Borsa Istanbul: Made the highest closing of all time

Borsa Istanbul broke the record of all time. BIST 100 index finished the day with a gain of 2.78% above 1,981.04 points, closing the highest of all time. While the BIST 100 index increased by 53.65 points compared to the previous close, the total transaction volume stood at ₺42.1 billion.

The banking index gained 0.16% and the holding index gained 4.31%. Among the sector indices, tourism with 5.79% earned the most, and forest, paper and printing, which declined the most, with 0.71%. The BIST 100 index brought its highest level record to 1,984.03 points and its closing record to 1,981.04 points.

Analysts stated that the statements of the European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde will be in the focus of the markets tomorrow, and stated that the growth in Japan and the number of JOLTS job vacancies in the USA will come to the fore on the data agenda.

Stating that the developments regarding the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic continue to remain in the focus of investors, analysts stated that technically, the level of 1.990 in the BIST 100 index is in the position of resistance and the level of support of 1,870 points.
