Record Visitor Numbers for Antalya in the First Five Months of the Year

Antalya Welcomes Nearly 4 Million Visitors, Russia Surpasses Germany as Top Tourist Source in May

Antalya has set a new record by welcoming nearly 4 million domestic and international visitors in the first five months of the year. According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of visitors to Antalya from January to May increased by 16.26% compared to the same period last year.

Breaking records for the best start to a tourism season ever, Antalya hosted 3,959,267 visitors in the first five months of the year.

Germany and Russia Lead Visitor Numbers

Germany retained its position as the top source of tourists to Antalya during the first five months of the year, sending 974,272 visitors. Russia followed closely with 857,862 visitors, and the UK ranked third with 451,341 visitors.

Other countries contributing significant visitor numbers included Poland, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Lithuania, Belgium, and France. Compared to the same period last year, the number of visitors from key markets increased significantly: Germany by 18%, Russia by 9%, the UK by 28%, Poland by 35%, the Netherlands by 16%, Kazakhstan by 12%, Ukraine by 59%, Belgium by 12%, and France by 39%.

May Sees Russia Overtake Germany

Known for its beaches, historical and natural attractions, and cultural sites, Antalya also broke visitor records in May. The number of visitors in May increased by 18.72% year-over-year to 1,892,302.

In May, Russia overtook Germany as the top source of visitors to Antalya, with 491,078 Russians visiting the city. Germany came in second with 434,609 visitors, while the UK remained third with 185,221 visitors.

Poland, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Lithuania, Romania, and Belarus followed the UK in sending the most visitors to Antalya in May. Compared to May of the previous year, the number of visitors from Russia increased by 26%, Germany by 14%, the UK by 23%, Poland and the Netherlands by 38%, Kazakhstan by 11%, Ukraine by 66%, Romania by 45%, and Belarus by 36%.
