Regulations on Cinema Industry Support Revised: Expanded Coverage for Expenditures

The regulation amending the Regulation on Supporting the Cinema Industry, prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has been published in the Official Gazette.

According to the changes, various financial documents can now be considered as expenditure costs. These include commission fee payments for bank letters of guarantee, receipts for premium payments of surety bond insurance contracts issued by insurance companies, payrolls, Social Security Institution (SGK) premium payments, private insurance policy expenses, and collection receipts issued by public institutions and organizations.

Additionally, a new provision states that if any deficiencies are found in the required application documents for supported projects, projects that fail to submit all necessary documents—including a signed application form—by the application deadline will not be included in the meeting agenda.

With this regulatory amendment, the previous restrictions on payments for projects receiving multiple types of financial support have been lifted. Furthermore, a new requirement has been introduced, mandating that contracts for supported projects must be signed within 30 days of application submission.
