Minister Simsek: Tax accrual rates increased to 92.7%

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek stated that they improved the collection performance and said, “The accrual collection rate of tax revenues, which was 89.5% in 2022, increased by 3.2 points to 92.7% in 2023.”

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek made a statement about tax revenue accrual and collection rates on his social media account.

Underlining that they improved their collection performance, Simsek used the following statements in his post:

“The accrual collection rate of tax revenues, which was 89.5% in 2022, increased by 3.2 points to 92.7% in 2023. Within the scope of our collection efforts, debtors were informed one-on-one about the importance of tax payments and the legal consequences of not making them on time.”

Pointing out that installments are made within the legal framework for those who have difficulty paying their debts, Simsek noted that as a result of the studies, a better income performance was achieved than envisaged in the 2023 budget.
