Also, a subsidiary of electric vehicle maker Rivian, is set to begin delivering its first electric bikes to customers this week after months of delays caused by supply chain issues.

The company said the “Launch Edition” of its TM-B electric bike, priced at $4,500, has begun shipping from its manufacturing facility to a U.S. warehouse. Deliveries to customers are expected to start this week.

Also was launched as a secret project within Rivian in 2022 after CEO RJ Scaringe explored the idea of developing an electric bike that would complement the company’s portfolio of vehicles aimed at outdoor enthusiasts. The startup later worked with LoveFrom, the design firm founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive, on early-stage design work.

Rivian later established Also as an independent company with $105 million in funding from Eclipse. The startup unveiled the TM-B, its first electric bike, in October 2025 and had initially targeted spring 2026 for customer deliveries.

However, supply chain disruptions pushed the schedule back to July. Also said a sudden increase in industry-wide demand for raw materials and electronic components affected the availability of critical parts needed for the TM-B, temporarily delaying its planned production ramp-up.

The company said its engineering and manufacturing teams worked to minimize the impact of the supply constraints without compromising safety or quality.

Also is also expanding beyond electric bikes. The company plans to manufacture four-wheeled pedal-assisted cargo vehicles for Amazon and is developing an autonomous delivery vehicle for DoorDash.

The developments highlight Also’s broader strategy of expanding into electric and autonomous mobility solutions beyond traditional passenger vehicles.
