ANKARA — Turkish defense manufacturer ROKETSAN has launched “LEVEL-UP AI,” a 48-hour artificial intelligence hackathon aimed at university students and recent graduates, as the company seeks to identify and nurture the next generation of AI talent for the defense industry.
The event will bring together participants to develop innovative AI-powered solutions for real-world defense and technology challenges under the guidance of ROKETSAN engineers and industry experts. Competitors will work intensively over 48 hours, gaining hands-on experience while showcasing their technical and problem-solving skills.
According to the company, the hackathon is designed to bridge academic knowledge with practical applications in artificial intelligence, providing participants with mentoring opportunities, networking sessions, and direct exposure to ROKETSAN’s AI initiatives.
Applications for the LEVEL-UP AI Hackathon are open until August 16, 2026, with the competition taking place in Ankara. Eligible participants include university students and recent graduates interested in artificial intelligence, software development, and advanced technologies.
The initiative forms part of ROKETSAN’s broader strategy to strengthen Türkiye’s domestic defense technology ecosystem by investing in young engineers and expanding its pipeline of AI specialists. The company has increasingly focused on talent development through internship, graduate, and innovation programs as it accelerates work on next-generation defense systems.
