Roketsan Unveils Six Strategic Products at IDEF 2025

Roketsan, one of Turkey’s leading defense companies specializing in rockets, missiles, and munitions, showcased six cutting-edge products for the first time at the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025). The company participated in the event with more than 60 advanced defense systems.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) Haluk Görgün highlighted the significance of the event, saying:
“We are witnessing an important day for our defense industry. This exhibition demonstrates the level we have achieved on the international stage. Roketsan continues to develop state-of-the-art solutions across multiple disciplines, rapidly solving complex problems and transforming them into products that strengthen our platforms’ strike capabilities.”

GÖKBORA Missile Capable of Neutralizing Targets Beyond 100 Miles

Roketsan CEO Murat İkinci emphasized the importance of the new products for both Roketsan and Turkey’s defense industry, stating:
“These products will not only enhance the capabilities of our armed forces but also provide strong deterrence for allied nations.”

The first product introduced was GÖKBORA, a beyond-visual-range (BVR) air-to-air missile:
“GÖKBORA has a range of over 100 miles and will be launched from the internal stations of KAAN and KIZILELMA platforms. With its ramjet engine, GÖKBORA will offer superior air-to-air capabilities compared to its global counterparts,” İkinci explained.

EREN Loitering Munition Enhances UAV Power

The second product, EREN, is a loitering munition with a range exceeding 100 kilometers, capable of being launched from various platforms.
“EREN can engage both aerial and ground targets, significantly boosting the battlefield power of our UAVs,” İkinci said.

300 ER Missile Extends Strike Capabilities Beyond 500 km

Roketsan also unveiled the 300 ER missile, part of the IHA-230 family, which can be launched from UAVs and fighter jets:
“With a range of over 500 kilometers, the 300 ER missile will greatly enhance the operational range of our UAVs,” İkinci stated.

Şimşek-2 Satellite Launch Vehicle

In the field of space technologies, Roketsan introduced Şimşek-2, a next-generation satellite launch vehicle:
“Şimşek-2, standing nearly 40 meters tall, can carry a payload of 1.5 tons into an orbit over 700 kilometers. It features a two-stage liquid-fuel propulsion system and represents the pinnacle of our space technology efforts,” İkinci noted.

AKATA: Submarine-Launched ATMACA Cruise Missile

Focusing on maritime capabilities, Roketsan presented AKATA, a submarine-launched variant of the ATMACA cruise missile.
“This system allows our submarines to engage both naval and land targets, providing a significant strategic advantage in the Blue Homeland. Only a few countries possess such technology,” İkinci stated.

TAYFUN BLOK-4 Hypersonic Missile

The final product unveiled was TAYFUN BLOK-4, a hypersonic ballistic missile:
“The TAYFUN project is already in serial production, but the BLOK-4 variant is the most powerful member of the family, with hypersonic speed, a 10-meter length, and a weight of 7,200 kg,” İkinci explained.

“A Major Deterrent for the Turkish Armed Forces”

Turkish Land Forces Commander Gen. Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu emphasized the strategic importance of the new systems:
“By the end of this year, this system will be integrated into our inventory, marking our first operational experience with ballistic missiles. This will be a major deterrent for the Turkish Armed Forces,” he said.

The launch ceremony was attended by numerous military officials, representatives of defense companies, government institutions, and international guests.
