Russia Becomes Top Importer of Turkish Cosmetics in March

Russia became the largest buyer of Turkish cosmetic products in March after significantly increasing its imports from Türkiye, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK). Russian companies boosted their cosmetic purchases from Türkiye by 32.6% year-on-year, reaching $12.6 million, up from $9.5 million in the same month last year.

The sharp rise pushed Russia to first place among Türkiye’s cosmetic export markets. The Netherlands followed with imports worth $9.6 million, while the United States ranked third at $8.9 million.

Aromatic oil mixtures accounted for the largest share of Russia’s imports, totaling $7.1 million. Skin-care products generated $1.4 million in sales, while perfume imports reached $1.2 million.

Industry analysts say Russia’s growing dependence on Turkish cosmetics is linked to the sharp decline in imports from European Union countries following supply-chain disruptions and trade restrictions. Türkiye has emerged as an attractive alternative supplier due to its competitive pricing and logistical advantages.

The trend highlights Türkiye’s expanding influence in the global cosmetics market, with the country strengthening its position not only in Europe and the United States, but increasingly in Russia as well.
