Sales of Turkiye’s car Togg will begin this week

The eagerly awaited sales process of Turkiye’s first domestic car, Togg, begins this week.

Turkiye’s 60-year-old automobile dream comes true. Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, said that Togg will be offered for sale this week.

Emphasizing that Togg is also an inspiration for technology entrepreneurs, Kacir said, “We will embark on a new production journey with Togg. This week, God willing, Turkiye’s car Togg will be on sale. Togg will be meeting with our nation in the coming days. Togg will not only be one of the most successful electric car brands in the world, it will also be instrumental in the birth of many technology initiatives. Togg’s electric vehicle software and hardware are realized by the national companies of this country.”

C-segment SUVs will be on the road

The dream set up with Devrim Automobile was realized half a century later. Togg’s first model to go on sale will be a C-segment SUV. Then domestic cars will be on the road.

SCT support

The most curious issue when processing the calendar for Togg is the price. The key to pricing policy will be accessibility. In this context, a tax base arrangement has recently been introduced. The excise tax base of electric vehicles with an engine power exceeding 160 kilowatts has been increased to 40%. The excise tax base, which includes Togg, remained at 10%.

This arrangement was considered a Togg-specific baseline adjustment. The list price will be shared with the public shortly.

Low cost financing exclusive to Togg

After the price determination process, public banks will step in. Exclusive low-cost financing will be provided to Togg.

Serial production started on October 29 at Togg’s production base in Gemlik, Bursa. About 20,000 cars will be produced by the end of the year. The goal is to deliver 1 million vehicles by 2030.

Charging station move

Turkiye’s automobile will provide an uninterrupted driving experience. A critical move was made to spread Trugo, Togg’s domestically produced charging station, across the country.

Businesses that are members of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkiye will be able to provide space for the establishment of Trugo. Eligible fields will be reported to Togg. Togg will evaluate suitable locations to form the station network. Adequate electrical infrastructure for charging stations will also be another condition. The owner will receive a 5% share of the turnover only when he meets the energy infrastructure.
